FAQs
Which areas do you service?
We service the greater Sacramento, Placer, and Yolo Counties.
Are your caregivers employees or sub-contractors?
All of our caregivers are employees. We do background checks and drug testing, along with reference-checking prior to hiring an applicant. We require a minimum of 6-months experience. All of our caregivers are covered under Workers’ Compensation and liability insurance along with a dishonesty bond.
Will your caregiver transport my family member?
Yes. Whether using the client’s vehicle or the caregiver’s vehicle, we would require a signed waiver of liability. If using the caregiver’s vehicle, a fee for mileage would be passed through to the client as an additional charge. When using the client’s vehicle there is no fee for mileage.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel services occasionally, we just ask that you give us a 24-hour notice.
What happens if I need to contact Rx after regular business hours?
We are available for urgent needs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. In home care, the worst situations typically occur at night or on weekends or holidays. We have a real person, not an answering service, which answers the phones after regular office hours.
What are your rates?
Our rates are charged hourly and are based on the level of care needed. Your best rate is with a minimum of 4 hours; however, we do offer short visits, too. We pay our caregivers weekly and bill clients weekly as well.
How do you handle customer complaints or caregiver conflicts?
This is a very personal service, and as such everyone who receives care will have concerns from time to time. We understand that not all personalities “click.” We want our clients to feel comfortable with the caregivers they are working with, so if for any reason they are not working out, it is no problem for us to send a different caregiver. We take complaints very seriously and act as a liaison to resolve conflicts quickly and effectively. We do regular, ongoing supervisory visits to ensure our caregivers are providing excellent service! In addition, we periodically send out customer satisfaction surveys.
What happens if my caregiver calls in sick?
We understand that our caregivers will be sick, and/or need time off from work occasionally, so we encourage our clients to get comfortable or “bond” with 2-3 caregivers so there is less of an impact when this happens. If a caregiver calls in sick, we will ensure that another qualified caregiver will be there to cover your needs.
Can you provide services even if my family member is in a facility (i.e. Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, or Independent Living Facility)?
We can provide most of our services in any facility. We cannot duplicate services provided by the facility; however, we can help cover any gaps. We can provide one-on-one sitter service, transportation to and from church and/or appointments, companionship, etc.
